KABUL, Afghanistan (Dec. 18, 2010)
– A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated today in Kandahar district, Kandahar province, killing two civilians, including one child and wounding 11 children.

“The insurgents continue to demonstrate their disregard for life by senselessly killing and wounding innocent civilians,” said U.S. Army Lt. Col. Patrick Hynes, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command Combined Joint Operations Center director. “Our thoughts and concerns are with the victim’s families. We’ll work with our Afghan partners to find those responsible for this attack and bring them to justice.”
