KABUL, Afghanistan (Nov. 22) – Four Afghan civilians were killed and two wounded in an improvised explosive device blast in Zurmat district, Paktiya province today.

International Security Assistance Forces responded to the scene of the blast and transported the wounded to the local Zurmat Hospital.

“The result of these acts of terror against Afghan people is a terrible reminder of the criminal weapons insurgents use,” said U.S. Army Col. Rafael Torres, ISAF Joint Command’s Combined Joint Operations Center director. “Our thoughts and concerns are with the victim’s families. We’ll work with our Afghan partners to find those responsible for this attack and bring them to justice.”
