KABUL, Afghanistan (Dec. 7) – The Afghan and French headquarters worked shoulder to shoulder during the combined Bison Playoff II operation to remove insurgents from the Tagab Valley of Sarobi district in late November.

The 3rd Afghan Infantry Brigade, 201st Corps, Afghan National Army, and French Task Force Lafayette were partnered and settled in the same area.

“This helps us with coordinating our actions and being more efficient on the field”, said French Army Brig. Gen. Jean-Francois
Hogard, commander, Task Force Lafayette. “It is also a great opportunity to maintain our friendship and brotherhood in arms.”

This was the first combined mission for both unit commanders, each taking their positions one month ago. It initiates a new operations supervision system that will help the Afghan Army achieve total security autonomy in this area.

“We are very confident in our combined coordination and support,” said Afghan Brig. Gen. Emam Nazar, commander, 3rd Afghan Infantry Brigade. “This operation was a success, so will be the future ones.”
