Today, Afghanistan celebrated the 91st anniversary of its Independence from Britain in 1919. This ceremony commemorates the day that the Treaty of Rawalpindi was signed, granting Afghanistan its Independence. A wreath was laid by Afghan President Hamid Karzai on the independence monument in the memory of the fallen soldiers who gave their lives for freedom, Aug. 19, 2010, in Kabul, Afghanistan.
