KABUL, Afghanistan (Oct. 29, 2011) — A vehicle-born improvised explosive device detonated today in Kabul, causing a number of casualties and severely damaging an International Security Assistance Force vehicle.

Initial reports indicate several ISAF service member and local Afghan casualties.

It is ISAF policy to defer casualty identification procedures to the relevant national authorities.
