ISAF provides additional information about Aug 31 operation in Uruzgan

2012-09-CA-03

KABUL, Afghanistan (Sep. 2, 2012) – The insurgent leader who was detained by the combined Afghan-Coalition operation in Uruzgan early Saturday morning is confirmed to be an IED emplacer and was previously involved in kidnapping, murder and attacks on Afghan National Security Forces. At the time of his capture, he was attempting to support and move the insider threat shooter who killed three Australian soldiers and wounded two on Aug. 29.

Insider attacks are especially egregious in nature. Afghan and Coalition forces will spare no effort in finding and bringing to justice those who are responsible for these attacks.
