Shooting Incident in Western Afghanistan

 KABUL, Afghanistan (Aug. 25) - An Afghan National Police member, two International Security Assistance Force servicemembers and one civilian were killed during a shooting incident in western Afghanistan today.

The cause of the shooting incident is still unclear, however reports indicate during a mentoring session between ISAF and ANP, an ANP member fired several rounds, which were returned by ISAF members. In the course of the fire, the ANP member was killed, along with the ISAF soldiers and civilian.

At this point the cause of the shooting is unclear.

After the incident, which occurred in Badghis province, a demonstration occurred near the camp where the shooting happened.

The Afghan National Army and ANP are monitoring the demonstration. More details will be released as they become available.
