ISAF Media Registration 

Documents Needed for First Time Registration & Renewals

      - Filled out ISAF Media Registration Form

      - Filled out ISAF Media Ground Rules and Hold Harmless Agreement

      - Copy of your passport/national ID

      - Copy of your current press card

      - Letter of accreditation or intent to publish

      - Recent picture of you (within 1 year, passport style)

      - Copy of your Afghan visa

Note: All media are required to register per the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Mass Media Law at the following website: http://www.mfa.gov.af/media.asp. Please take notice this process is completely separate to ISAF credentialing; however, both documents are required before access to Afghanistan. 

Biometric Screening Requirement:

All media representatives must be screened through our Biometric screening. The Biometric screening process includes an iris scan, fingerprinting, the taking of photos of the face from different angles, and a background check. The iris scan, fingerprinting and photo portion of the Biometric Screening takes about 20 minutes, however it may take up to three days for the background check to process. Once the background check has been returned with no issues, the ISAF Media Badge will then be issued to the applicant. Screening information is valid for one year, as well as the ISAF Media Badge.

Note: Media badges will be distributed on a case-by-case basis at the Kabul International Airport south military main gate after an e-mail confirmation is sent detailing instructions for ISAF media badge pick up. Please note that media credentials may take up to 10 days to process. Before any interview is scheduled, media embed planned or required media access is granted on any ISAF installation, you will need to have proper accreditation.
