Mission
Forces in TAAC South Train, Advise and Assist the Afghanistan National Security Forces through Security Force Assistance and integration of effects in order to develop long-term ANSF sustainability and posture the force for Resolute Support in 2015. 


Area of Responsibility
TAAC South includes the provinces of Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul and Daykundi.

Headquarters, TAAC South framework element – U.S. 1st Cavalry Division
NATO Nations: Romania, Slovakia, U.K., U.S., Belgium
Non-NATO Nations: Australia, Jordan, Georgia

Major Units Assigned
Task Force Mountain Warrior: U.S. 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division

TF Corsair: U.S. 2nd Battalion, 82nd Aviation Regiment

205th CAT:  A team of advisors dedicated to providing expert advice and counsel to the Afghan National Army’s 205th (Hero) Corps

Police Advisory Team:  A team of advisors dedicated to providing expert advice and counsel to the Afghan National Police in southern Afghanistan.
